Add the Blues to Your Garden for Vibrant Notes of ColorIf you need ideas to fill in a space along a fence, trellis or a lattice enclosure for a patio, choose the fast-growing Thunbergia Grandiflora or “Blue Sky Vine.” This evergreen tropical climbs over anything, sending out wandering tendrils that can reach out several feet. (Interestingly, in India it is called a Bengal Clock Vine, as it twines around in a clockwise direction.) Its deep green spade-shaped leaves highlight glorious bloom clusters, which you may like to cut and display inside your home.Native to China, India, Nepal and Southeast Asia, the Blue Sky Vine can grow in full sun, but stays greener with some afternoon shade. Make sure to plant at least 8 ft away from trees and shrubs, as this vine is a grabber. It prefers well-drained soil, and should be kept evenly moist.
